Kampung Sungai Paoh Multipurpose Hall Now Fully Operational

SERIAN: Residents of Kampung Sungai Paoh can now breathe a sigh of relief as their day-to-day activities will be eased with the village's multipurpose hall now ready and fully operational.


The hall, which began construction in 2018 with an allocation of RM200,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), was later upgraded in 2020 involving funds amounting to RM110,000.


Following this, the Sungai Paoh Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) invited Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Martin Ben to inaugurate the hall.


On that occasion, Datuk Martin who is also the Kedup assemblyman presented the certificates of appointment to the Sungai Paoh JKKK.


In other developments, he also announced funds for the RTP project amounting to RM150,000 to upgrade St Andrew's Church while informing that requests for other facilities at the church will be reviewed at a later date.


Also present were Serian District Council Chairman and Serian District Officer Inting Nyami, Serian District Council Secretary Tay Guan Huat, Village Chief of Kampung Sungai Paoh Terry Aban, Pemanca Bidayuh of Serian Division Jacques Kantuh, Penghulu of Kedup Area Jambeng Sorak and Serian District Council Members Emmanuel Henry and Robin Augustine Kiek. -UKASnews
