MIRI: The Miri Arts Festival 2024 (MAF'24), scheduled to take place from August 1 to 4 at Pullman Miri Waterfront and Miri Times Square, will showcase new and innovative digital art experiences.

MAF'24 is a major art event that aims to bring the city of Miri to life with various exciting festivities, showcasing creativity and cultural celebrations.

Moreover, MAF'24 aims to establish itself as a leading artistic expression and community engagement platform.

Highlights of the first edition include the Artistic Premiere, which will show debut works by new talents and experienced artists, introducing a variety of visual art.

Secondly, the Premier Performances invite the public to be among the first to witness stunning performances by local and international artists, encompassing a spectrum of music harmoniously integrated with art.

Additionally, MAF'24 will have a Cultural Exhibition exploring Miri's rich cultural heritage with a lively art market featuring traditional crafts, food, and cultural demonstrations.

The Gala Night will highlight the arts and creative industry with captivating performances by legendary singer Anuar Zain, comedian Douglas Lim, violist Nisa Addina, and painter MahsuriShark.

MAF'24 is organised by AX International Event & Communications Sdn Bhd in collaboration with the Sarawak Chamber of Bumiputera Entrepreneurs and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC); the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP); the Sarawak Tourism Board; Miri City Council; Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel; and Miri Times Square.

The opening ceremony will be held on August 3, 2024, at 2 PM at Miri Times Square and will be officiated by the Minister of MTCP, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah. -UKASnews
