LAWAS: The third series of the Industry Continuous Professional Development (iCPD) programme was officially launched in Lawas by Lo Sheau Sia, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) Sarawak.
Lo Sheau highlighted the significance of the programme in addressing the evolving needs of the industry and enhancing the skills of the local workforce.
"Our goal is to equip our workers with the necessary skills to thrive in a competitive environment," she said.
Meanwhile, Anielia Siam, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Sarawak, delivered the opening remarks at the event.
In her opening remarks, Anielia emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering innovation and development within the education sector.
She expressed optimism that the programme would contribute significantly to the growth and advancement of Sarawak's workforce.
Also present was Datu Ubaidillah Abdul Latip, Regional Director of the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA).
The programme, organised by MINTRED in collaboration with MEITD, the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), and the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), aims to boost the competitiveness and employability of local workers, meeting the industry's skill demands in Sarawak.
The iCPD series provides a valuable platform for students and employees to access training courses, employment opportunities, and networking possibilities.
This initiative aligns with the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) aspiration to achieve a 30 per cent skilled workforce by 2030.- UKASnews
