BETONG: Service Sarawak, established by the Sarawak Government, aims to streamline access to various public services for the benefit of local community.
The implementation of Service Sarawak is based on the "One Government at Your Service" concept, providing an integrated one-stop solution for accessing frontline public services through various Service Sarawak channels, including counters, kiosks, portals, and mobile applications.
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports, and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu, announced that Betong residents can now complete various transactions at Service Sarawak Betong, which has been operational since July 1.
"We would like to thank the Sarawak government for opening this 'one-stop centre' for citizens to pay bills and make inquiries to any department under the supervision of Sarawak state agencies.
"This directly facilitates Sarawakians, especially in Betong, in paying bills and inquiring about other services provided by the Sarawak government," he said.
He said this when met by reporters during his visit to Service Sarawak Betong on Thursday.
Dato Gerald also invited Betong residents to utilise this government initiative by visiting Service Sarawak Betong.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Manager of Service Sarawak Betong, Lydia Lapet, informed that the transactions are not limited to the Betong area but cover other areas throughout Sarawak.
"Our services are not only focused on the Betong area but are comprehensive across Sarawak.
"This means that if their home is in another district but still within Sarawak, Service Sarawak is ready to assist them with the transactions they want to make," she said.
Additionally, Dato Gerald took the opportunity to present Rural Transformation Project (MRP) funds to three associations which are RM100,000 to the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Layar Branch, RM50,000 to the Biro Pendidikan Tuisyen Rumah Panjai, and RM10,000 to the Pekan Betong Volunteer Fire Association.
Also present were Krian Assemblyman, Friday Belik, Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Thomas Romeo Christopher Tegong, Chairman of the Layar Education Development Committee (LEDC), Paul Langgang, Councillor Horace Entoi, and Councillor Annelly Bejie. -UKASnews
