KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, will grace the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration on July 22 in Bintulu.

The courtesy call aimed to deliver an official invitation to Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and his wife by the Main Committee for the Sarawak Day 2024 Celebration, led by the Minister for Food Industry, Commodity, and Regional Development Sarawak (M-FICORD), Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom as the Chairman and the Minister responsible for the celebration, at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Wednesday.

Sarawak Premier  Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg is also expected to grace the Sarawak Day 2024 celebration.

With the theme 'Sarawak Maju Makmur,' the key programmes for this year's Sarawak Day Celebration include the Interfaith Thanksgiving Ceremony at Dewan Suarah Bintulu on July 20, a Thanksgiving Ceremony at Masjid Assyaqirin Bintulu the following day, and the highlight of the celebration, the Sarawak Day Gathering, on the night of July 22 at the Old Bintulu Airport.

Additionally, a 'Fun Ride' event at Dewan Suarah Bintulu on the morning of July 22 and a town hall session at Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus in the afternoon are also part of the programme.
