KUCHING: Amanah Saham Sarawak (ASSAR) has once again declared an additional dividend distribution of 3.5 sen per unit for the financial year ending June 30, 2024.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said, this second dividend distribution involves a total payout of RM16.39 million to 57,542 investors.
According to him, the distribution is calculated based on the unit holdings as of June 30, 2024.
"This brings the total dividend return for ASSAR for the financial year ending June 30, 2024 to 6.0 sen per unit, comprising an interim dividend of 2.5 sen per unit in addition to a final dividend of 3.5 sen per unit, with a total distribution amounting to RM28.1 million compared to a net income of RM36.16 million," he said during the dividend distribution announcement here, on Friday.
The interim dividend of 2.5 sen per unit was declared earlier on January 5, 2024, the first declaration post-restructuring of ASSAR.
Meanwhile, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari disclosed that a surplus income of RM8.06 million will be retained as reserves for the next financial year.
He added, positive economic developments and a favourable investment climate have consistently boosted the Net Asset Value (NAV) per unit of ASSAR to RM1.1262.
"On June 30, 2024, this represented a growth of 6.3 per cent compared to RM1.0594 in the previous financial year," he said.
