BINTULU: The partnership between Sarawak Skills and ADTEC Bintulu through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exemplifies a collaborative commitment to foster a highly skilled and competent workforce capable of meeting the dynamic demands of today's evolving job market.

This alliance underscores their shared vision to empower individuals with the necessary skills and expertise to thrive in diverse professional environments.

Sarawak Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD), Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn said that this collaboration aims to align training programmes with industry needs to ensure graduates are job-ready, enhancing youth employability and contributing to Sarawak's economic growth.

“This MoU aims to offer students new opportunities for practical experience through internships and industrial attachments, fostering hands-on training and exposure to real-world challenges in collaboration with industry partners, thereby preparing them for successful careers in their chosen fields.

“Not only will students benefit from this MoU, but it will also foster professional development for educators and trainers at Sarawak Skills and ADTEC Bintulu through knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives, thereby enhancing teaching quality, educational outcomes, and workforce skills,” he said during the Exchange Ceremony of the MoU in Bintulu on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Dato Sri Roland Sagah mentioned that the state government is committed to promote diversification and sustainable development with initiatives aimed at encouraging investments in renewable energy, tourism, and manufacturing sectors, thus ensuring a balanced and resilient economic landscape that preserves the state's natural beauty and resources for future generations.

“Sarawak's proactive measures in fostering a business-friendly environment, including policies that promote innovation, attract investments, and support startups, have led to a thriving technology sector, establishing Sarawak as a hub for technological advancements,” he added.

Looking ahead, he said Sarawak's economy is set for significant growth, driven by a steadfast commitment to sustainability, innovation, and the development of a skilled workforce, positioning the state to seize upcoming challenges and opportunities.

Also present during the ceremony were MEITD Deputy Minister, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, MEITD Deputy Permanent Secretary, Anielia Siam, Executive Director of Sarawak Skills and Chairman of Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC), Hallman Sabri, and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
