SIBU: The Rahmah Sales Programme for Pelawan State Constituency was held at CCK Local on Sunday morning, attended by Pelawan Assemblyman, Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee.

This programme was held in conjunction with the Rahmah Sales Programme by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN).

A total of 1,000 voters in Pelawan received donations of fresh chickens, with 500 chickens sponsored by Pelawan Assemblyman Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee, while another 500 chickens were donated by CCK Local.

Tiang commented that the recipients are those registered with the Pelawan service centre and expressed excitement over the reception given by registrants at the Pelawan State Assembly.

"The recipient is someone who registered with our service centre to receive vouchers (for redeeming chicken), and surprisingly, we managed to distribute them within one day, despite our initial expectation of two days," he said.

The Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government acknowledged the difficulties faced by the people due to the current high cost of living.

"I will continue to play my role in helping them reduce the pressure from this very challenging daily life.

"I hope the federal government will continue to launch the Rahmah Sales programme to help us have some subsidised items, especially daily necessities," he said.

Tiang also highlighted several Sarawak Government initiatives to assist Sarawakians, such as the Kenyalang Gold Card and free education.
