KUCHING: His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor and Her Royal Highness Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin graced the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) on Friday.
Their Majesties arrived around 8 p.m., accompanied by the Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, and his wife, Puan Sri Datin Amar Fatimah Mohd Iskandar.
They were welcomed by Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and his wife, Datin Sri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar.
Also present were Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, his wife, and other deputy ministers.
Their Majesties were treated to performances by The Colour Of Sound Malaysia, Esemble Melayu Nusantara, The Borneo Collective, Rhythm Rebels featuring Selonding Bali Aga, and a special appearance by Japanese music legend Kitaro, accompanied by Belle Sisoski.
On Saturday, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin visited the Borneo Cultures Museum and the Tun Jugah Foundation Gallery before departing on a special flight on Sunday.
Approximately 10,000 visitors attended the opening night of RWMF, themed 'Evolution' this year.-UKASnews
