Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Receives Courtesy Visit From Brunei Darussalam's Second Minister Of Foreign Affairs

KUCHING: Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, received a courtesy visit from Brunei Darussalam's Second Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dato Seri Setia Awang Erywan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mohd Yusof at Wisma Sumber Alam here, on Friday.

The courtesy visit, lasting over two hours, aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation between sarawak and brunei in various aspects including energy development, telecommunications, commercial agriculture, tourism, investment, and trade.
 
Also discussed was the upcoming opening of the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Brunei (STATOB) in bandar Seri Begawan which will further strengthen this bilateral cooperation.
 
Meanwhile, development plans to increase road connectivity, particularly the Northern Coastal Highway connecting Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam, are expected to boost economic activities for mutual prosperity. 
 
Also present during the courtesy visit were Consul General of Brunei Darussalam to Sarawak, Sheikh Abdul Mahdani Sheikh Abdul Gani, Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Sarawak State Attorney General, Datu Saferi Ali, Permanent Secretary to the Sarawak Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development, Datu Abdullah Julaihi, and Director of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) Sarawak, Datu Lester Matthew.

Earlier on Thursday, Dato Seri Setia Awang Erywan paid a courtesy visit to the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg. -UKASnews
