SEDC Offers Aid To Children At Datuk Amar Hajah Laila Taib Welfare Complex

KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) continues its corporate social responsibility programme by providing assistance to the less fortunate during Ramadan.

A total of 84 children from the Datuk Amar Hajah Laila Taib Welfare Complex in Kuching received Aidilfitri money and school supplies during a ceremony held at a hotel here on Thursday.

The event was graced by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma'ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.

It began with the exchange of the official Letter of Cooperation between SEDC & Sarawak Baitumal Fund, followed by the handover of business zakat from SEDC to the Sarawak Baitumal Fund amounting to RM600,000.

Subsequently, the Sarawak Premier and his wife officiated over the distribution of Aidilfitri aid and school supplies to the children from the Datuk Amar Hajah Laila Taib Welfare Complex.

Also in attendance were Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Sarawak Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil, Sarawak Deputy Minister in the Premier's Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, Sarawak Deputy Minister in the Premier's Department (Labour, Immigration, and Project Monitoring), Datuk Gerawat Gala, SEDC Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Abdul Aziz Dato Husain, Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning & Development), Datu Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, SEDC Chief Executive Officer Datu Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir, and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
