KUCHING: The Sarawak Government has unveiled another milestone in its digital transformation journey with the launch of the EXPRT Module, an online system designed to simplify applications for the Sarawak Employment Pass for Expatriates.

Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala said the initiative aligns with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, underscoring the state’s commitment to digital governance, efficiency, and sustainable economic growth.

The announcement was made during the Industry Update Programme at the Hilton Hotel Kuching, organised by the Immigration and Labour Management Unit (ILMU) on Tuesday.

In a statement it said, the event brought together 190 stakeholders, including ministry representatives, government agencies, and industry players from across the state.

The EXPRT Module marks the second major development under the state’s ALIANCE digital ecosystem, following the successful SANSOLS platform launched earlier this year.

SANSOLS, which manages Non-Resident Employees (NRE), has already reduced processing times by 70 per cent, cut approval periods from 197 to 61 days, and enhanced transparency through integration with MyIMMs.

The new module focuses on expatriate recruitment, enabling faster and more transparent application processing.

New applications will go online by 1 November 2025, with renewal features to follow. -UKASnews
