547 Receive Aidilfitri Contributions In Limbang

LIMBANG: A total of 547 recipients, consisting of mosque and surau officials, single mothers, Persons with Disabilities (OKU), and orphans in the Limbang Division received Aidilfitri contributions from the Limbang Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIL), Baitulmal, and the Persatuan Melayu Limbang.

The handover of the total contribution of RM111,750 was officiated by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and his wife Dato Dayang Morliah Awang Daud at the Jannatul Firdaus Mosque here, on Monday.

In his speech, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah expressed his gratitude towards LAKIL, Baitulmal and Persatuan Melayu Limbang as well as all parties involved for their noble efforts which undoubtedly benefit the recipients.

"May this contribution help ease the burden of those in need and inspire others to provide support to the less fortunate," he said.

Meanwhile, the board of LAKIL board and its members also received a contribution of RM22,000.

A total of 24 Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) also received grants, involving the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG), sports clubs under MAKSAK Limbang Division, the Limbang District Education Office and several organisations within the Limbang District.

Also present were Federal Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Limbang Division Resident Unus Tambi, Limbang District Officer Sulaiman Engal, Limbang Division Islamic Religious Officer Ustaz Awang Abdul Rahim Awang Rosley and Pemanca Sahat Bagol. -UKASnews
