KUCHING: Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy visit from the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak (LBAS) 2025 Main Committee at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here on Tuesday.

The visit was led by the Minister of Works and Member of Parliament for Kapit, Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi who is also the Chairman of the LBAS 2025 Main Committee.

The meeting aimed at extending an official invitation to Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi to officiate the LBAS 2025 dinner which will be held this Saturday at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur.

The annual programme organised by the Sarawak Volunteers Association acts as the main platform to bring together Sarawakians in Peninsular Malaysia, strengthening family ties, social networks and the spirit of statehood among Sarawakians abroad.

The event, which will be attended by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, will also serve as a friendly forum between the community and the state's highest leadership, in addition to raising the spirit of ‘Segulai Sejalai’ among Sarawakians abroad.

Among those present during the courtesy visit were Deputy Minister of Economy and Member of Parliament for Mukah, Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib, Member of Parliament for Batang Lupar, Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, Member of Parliament for Lubok Antu, Roy Angau Gingkoi and Member of Parliament for Serian, Dato Sri Dr. Richard Riot Jaem.

Also present were Deputy Head of the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2025 Project, Nur Aisyah Eiryeeza Sabri Waini. -UKASnews
