KUCHING: The Sarawak Government's leadership approach based on political stability, progressive economic policies and inclusive development has enabled the state to emerge as a leader in various strategic areas in line with the aspirations of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
Deputy Sarawak Premier, Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian stressed that the strength and progress of Sarawak's development is based on the unity of the people and strong support for the leadership of the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
“The Sarawak Premier has reminded us that we are here together.
"That is why we have the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) Complex which is a direct contribution from the state government without having to be repaid," he said when met by the media during Dato Shankar R.P. Asnani Law Firm's Deepavali Open House on Monday.
He added that the UNIFOR Complex, which accommodates various houses of worship in high-value areas, reflects the Sarawak Government's focus in ensuring harmony and well-being of all races and religions.
Furthermore, Sarawak is now progressing with the green energy agenda, technological advancements and human capital development to ensure that the state continues to progress and is respected globally.
Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Dr. Sim also commended the role of the Indian community in Sarawak who have always contributed to the harmony and unity of the state despite their small numbers.
Also present were Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Deputy Minister of Utility (Sarawak Energy Berhad and PETROS), Dato Ibrahim Baki, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Mayor of Kuching South City Council, Dato Wee Hong Seng and other invited guests. -UKASnews
