KUCHING: Sarawak's focus is now shifting from strategic planning to the implementation of policies to be implemented under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) which is now the region's strategic compass for the next five years.
Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said the 13MP requires sound governance, disciplined implementation and dedication from all parties including the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS).
In this regard, he said, the SCS would remain committed to implementing the 13MP with excellence, integrity and responsibility, with a focus on implementation, delivery and results that ensure the benefits of development are felt in every corner of Sarawak.
“We will focus on implementation, delivery and achievement of results, ensuring that the benefits of development are felt in every corner of Sarawak.
“We will also continue to work as a team with the private sector, investors and communities, building partnerships that drive innovation, strengthen competitiveness and promote inclusive growth,” he said.
He said this when speaking at the Official Launch of the Sarawak 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) at a hotel here on Monday.
Presenting at the ceremony was Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
According to Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar, the 13MP requires the 3R principles, namely ‘Revisit’, ‘Rethink’ and ‘Recharge’ to reassess lessons learned, refine strategies for greater impact and renew Sarawak’s spirit towards Vision 2030.
“First, SCS will address implementation bottlenecks to ensure faster and more effective delivery of ongoing projects and consolidate the outcomes and achievements from the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) and PCDS 2030 while expanding on proven successful initiatives.
“Thirdly, SCS will chart a future-oriented path forward by capturing new opportunities, fostering innovation, and attracting high-impact public and private investments for Sarawak’s future growth,” he explained.
Also present at the event were Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Sarawak Legislative Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Sarawak Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Cabinet Ministers, heads of departments and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
