SIBURAN: The new road to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Cina Chung Hua here is a government initiative to improve the safety and well-being of schoolchildren.
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Transport (Aviation and Road), Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil said the construction of this new road is very important as the main road in front of the school, namely the Pan Borneo Highway, is one of the busiest and high-risk routes.
“This new road is not just physical infrastructure, but a symbol of the government’s concern for the safety of our children,” he said.
He said this during his speech at the opening ceremony of the road, here, on Friday.
According to the Mambong Assemblyman, the success of the road construction is the result of the joint efforts of various parties including the Serian Municipal Council, the Land and Survey Department, the Royal Malaysian Police, the Fire and Rescue Department and local donors.
“Close cooperation between the community and the government proves that local development can be achieved with a spirit of togetherness,” he added.
According to him, with the completion of this project, SJK (C) Chung Hua Siburan now enjoys safer and more organised access, in line with the Sarawak Government's continuous efforts in strengthening educational infrastructure in rural and suburban areas.
Also present were Siburan District Officer Ranum Bari, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SJK (C) Chung Hua Siburan Phang Nam Fatt, Headmaster of SJK (C) Chung Hua Siburan Wong Siew Peng, Siburan District Police Chief Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi and Secretary of the Siburan District Council Hiu Kee Seng. -UKASnews
