SARIKEI: The government continues to reaffirm its commitment to the well-being of the people through the implementation of Projek Mesra Rakyat (PMR) in the Sarikei parliamentary constituency, reflecting the MADANI government’s focus on equitable and inclusive development.
The symbolic handover of offer letters for PMR projects under Sarikei parliamentary constituency was held at the Sarikei Division Government Administrative Centre, organised by the Sarawak Development Office for the Sri Aman Zone.
Deputy Resident of Sarikei, Badjuri Bidin represented the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sarikei and Repok Assemblyman, Dato Sri Huang Tiong Sii at the event.
In his message, Dato’ Sri Huang stated that the PMR initiative reflects the government’s continuous efforts to improve living standards and ensure that development reaches communities at all levels.
“The MADANI Government remains committed to improving basic facilities for the people. This event marks the government’s effort to deliver project offer letters to the appointed contractors for the implementation of PMR supply projects across Sarikei,” he said.
He added that the initiative embodies the government’s responsiveness to the needs of the grassroots, especially among longhouse and rural communities.
Through PMR, the government aims to ensure that every area enjoys improved access to essential infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems, electricity, and community facilities.
Among the projects implemented under the Sarikei parliamentary constituency are road repairs and concrete road construction, culvert installation, upgrading of drainage systems, electrical wiring works, and building material supplies for longhouses and rural households.
Dato’ Sri Huang also congratulated all appointed contractors and urged them to carry out their duties with integrity and discipline.
“Execute your responsibilities with commitment, ensure that every project meets technical specifications, and deliver high-quality work within the given timeframe,” he said, calling for continuous cooperation between government agencies and contractors.
Also present were Sarikei District Officer Louis Yeo Soon Guan, Meradong District Office representative Ting Kai Siang, Sarawak Development Office Zone Officer Radiah Muhamad, and Kapitan Ling Dien Yong representing the Service Centre. -UKASnews
