MUKAH: SMK Three Rivers Mukah continues to record steady academic progress, showing consistent improvement over the past three years.

Academically the school’s internal and trial examination results indicated a positive trend, with the overall pass rate increasing from 54 per cent to 68 per cent, while the Grade Point Average (GPA) improved from 6.77 to 6.06 this year.

Principal Donny Dahlan said the achievement reflects the strong collaboration among teachers, parents and students, supported by the Sarawak Enhancement Education (SEED) programme under the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD).

“This year, we spent over RM35,000 on intervention activities such as additional classes, motivation workshops and answering technique seminars.

These efforts are made possible through the support of the assemblyman, PIBG and parents,” he said.

He added that the school aims to achieve a GPA of 4.50 and a pass rate of 98.65 per cent for the upcoming Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.

The school also reported a 95 per cent attendance rate, an increase from 93 per cent last year, showing improved student commitment.

During the event, Daphne Ong Yu Qi from class 5G was named the recipient of the Tom Bazeley Award 2025 for her outstanding academic and co-curricular achievements.

The ceremony was attended by Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine, Deputy Mukah District Education Officer Clement Liam, PIBG Chairman Mohamad Nazir Besiri, and School Liaison Officer Sergeant Boni Asin. -UKASnews
