MUKAH: Efforts to strengthen student welfare and academic support at SMK Three Rivers Mukah received a major boost through a new allocation of RM30,000 for school programmes next year.
The good news was announced by Tellian Assemblyman Royston Valentine during a Form 5 Graduation Ceremony held at Dewan Tom Bazeley here on Friday.
Royston, who officiated the event, said the contribution aims to ensure students have access to a supportive environment that nurtures learning and well-being.
The allocation will support the implementation of school activities under the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) and sustain the Fifty7 Spoon Programme, which provides meals for SPM and STPM candidates during their examination period to help them remain focused and energised.
“This contribution is not only for school activities but also to ensure our students are cared for physically and mentally, especially during critical examination periods,” he said.
He commended the PIBG, teachers and parents for their continuous collaboration in supporting the students’ success.
“Education is a shared responsibility. When schools, parents and the community work together, our children will thrive,” he added.
Meanwhile the graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of Form 5 students this year, marking an important milestone in their academic journey.
Also present were Deputy Mukah District Education Officer Clement Liam, School Principal Donny Dahlan, PIBG Chairman Mohamad Nazir Besiri, and School Liaison Officer Sergeant Boni Asin. -UKASnews
