BELAGA: The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) remains committed to being the primary platform for delivering information on Sarawak Government policies and initiatives to the people.

This is achieved through various media platforms and outreach programmes, such as the Belaga 2025 Community Day Programme.

UKAS Director, Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan, stated that the organisation of this community programme is part of UKAS's continuous efforts to ensure that residents in every corner of the state have access to authentic, accurate, and up-to-date information regarding government policies and the opportunities available to them.

"Through this UKAS communications channel, we ensure that the state government's initiatives, policies, and direction reach the people.

"Programmes like this also enable the community to find out about the various opportunities and assistance provided by government agencies," he said.

He was speaking at the closing ceremony for the Belaga District Community Day 2025 on Saturday.

He also shared that more than 20 UKAS officers from Kuching, Bintulu, Kapit, and other divisions were present to help ensure the success of the community programme, which was held in Belaga for the first time.

The two-day programme saw the participation of over 15 government agencies along with strong support from community leaders, village chiefs, community bodies, and local youth.

Activities included agency exhibitions, traditional sports, a colouring competition, and informal entertainment programmes.

He added that organising such events not only serves as a channel for information delivery but also a platform for strengthening ties between government agencies and the local community.

Furthermore, he urged the public, especially young people, to utilise UKAS's official social media platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and the UKAS website to get the latest information on state government policies.

"I encourage everyone to like, follow and share UKAS content so that more people can receive accurate information about government initiatives, particularly concerning education, entrepreneurship, and youth development," he explained.
