KUCHING: The Borneo Games Kuching (BGK) 2025 archery finals delivered thrilling contests as archers from Sarawak, Sabah, Labuan, and Kalimantan Timur battled for top honours at MSN Archery Ranch, Petra Jaya.

Kalimantan Timur celebrated a strong showing in the recurve men’s and compound women’s events, with Muhammad Rafa Abdullah and Rohani Sepha Ananda Hatta capturing gold medals. Teammate Nola Abrillia added a bronze in the compound women’s final, further proving the Indonesian province’s competitive edge.

Sabah also secured gold through Anuar Muhamad in the barebow men’s category and silver medals in both the recurve and barebow events. Labuan’s Rizal Roslin proudly claimed bronze in the barebow men’s division.

Despite facing stiff challenges, Sarawak’s home-ground advantage and depth ensured strong podium finishes across nearly every category, signalling an intense regional rivalry that kept supporters on the edge of their seats.

The finals closed with a lively prize-giving ceremony, marking the end of the archery schedule at BGK 2025 and reinforcing the Games’ role in promoting sporting camaraderie across Borneo. -UKASnews
