KUCHING: Sarawak’s young Recurve archer, Cecil Nathanael Busu Polycap, carved his name into Borneo Games Kuching (BGK) 2025 history by clinching three gold medals in the Recurve events, elevating Sarawak’s standing on the regional stage.
With unwavering composure and razor-sharp focus, Cecil proved that months of discipline and hard training had paid off in remarkable fashion.
“I am very happy to be able to perform well. Alhamdulillah, I managed to deliver,” he told the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) on Sunday.
Battling under the scorching sun at the archery range, Cecil’s arrows consistently found their mark, displaying his maturity and skill throughout the competition.
He emerged champion in the Recurve Men’s Individual, Recurve Men’s Team, and Recurve Mixed Team, making him one of the standout athletes of this year’s Games.
Adding to the glory, his triple triumph also secured him a place in the Top 5 Medalists (Men) at BGK 2025.
Cecil expressed hope that his achievements would fuel his performance in future tournaments while continuing to bring pride to Sarawak.
His shining success at BGK 2025 is expected to inspire more young athletes to take up archery, nurturing new talents capable of lifting Sarawak and Malaysia onto the world stage. –UKASnews
