Sarawak Premier Pays Visit To SK Abang Aing, Checks On Upgrading Project

SRI AMAN: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg took the time to pay a brief visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Abang Aing, in conjunction with his visit to the Pesta Benak, here, on Saturday.

During the visit, he spent around 30 minutes to find out about the progress of the school's upgrading project, which is categorised as a dilapidated school.

Meanwhile, he also listened to a briefing delivered by the Director of the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), Ir Dr Cassidy Morris, at the Juma'ani Hall of SK Abang Aing.

Also participating in the visit were Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, Lingga Assemblyman, Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor, Bukit Begunan Assemblyman, Datuk Mong Dagang, Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) Permanent Secretary, Adana Jed, and heads of departments.

According to a recent statement by the Sarawak Public Works Department, the SK Abang Aing upgrading project will involve the reconstruction of dilapidated buildings, namely Blocks A, B and C, a new toilet block and a Sesco sub-station.

The construction work began on August 12 and is expected to be fully completed on June 11, 2027. - UKASnews
