KUCHING: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg received two courtesy calls at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here, on Wednesday.

The first visit was from the Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak to discuss the direction and new measures for them to implement projects in the future.

AZAM Chairman, Datu William Patrick Nyigor said that they welcomed the suggestions made by Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Zohari especially in the aspect of future project development.

"We met with the Sarawak Premier two years ago, and this visit was also to provide current developments on the activities that have been implemented.

“He also gave several insightful suggestions for us to change direction and steps for future projects,” he said when met after the courtesy call.

Shortly after, the Sarawak Premier received a courtesy visit from the Sarawak Umrah and Hajj Agency Organisation (SUHA) led by its Chairman, Ruzaiman Ghazalee.

When met after the visit, Ruzaiman said, among the issues discussed were current matters related to umrah and hajj pilgrimage in Sarawak.

He mentioned that with Sarawak's plan to develop the aviation industry, it could provide direct flights from Kuching to Jeddah, Mecca.

“Indeed, it is the intention of SUHA and potential pilgrims from Sarawak to have direct flights from Kuching to Jeddah, and this matter is still being pursued.

"We hope that one day this can be realised to facilitate pilgrims in this state,” he stated. -UKASnews
