KUCHING: The Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) will continue its fight so that the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) is recognised and Sarawak's maritime rights are protected.

SUPP Deputy Secretary General, Dato Lo Khere Chiang said his party is committed in protecting the rights of Sarawak and the wellbeing of its people by practicing the principle of multiracialism since its establishment.

"As part of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government, SUPP adheres to the slogan ‘Sarawak first' to remain firmly on the side (to fight) for Sarawak.

"The SUPP party, the oldest political entity in Sarawak, was established with the noble goal of fighting for Sarawak's independence from the colonialists.

"Throughout its history, SUPP has faced challenges, including crackdowns and political instability, but it has remained resilient, emerging as a voice of hope for a better Sarawak," he said.

He said this while speaking at SUPP's 65th Anniversary celebration at Dewan Saati, SUPP Headquarters, here on Tuesday.

In addition, he also thanked the Deputy Premier of Sarawak and SUPP President, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian for his dedication and strong leadership which has played an important role in the success of the party.
