KUCHING: Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy visit from the Sarawak Public Service Commission (SPANS) at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Wednesday.
The SPANS delegation was led by its Chairman, Datu Kameri Affandi and was accompanied by Deputy Chairman, Datu Antonio Kahti Galis and several senior commission officers.
The visit aimed to introduce the new SPANS Chairman as well as discuss the commission's direction in strengthening the state's civil service recruitment system based on the principles of meritocracy, integrity and efficiency.
During the meeting, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi emphasised the strategic role of SPANS in streamlining public service governance, improving the recruitment system and improving the potential of Sarawakians to be utilised for the development of the state.
The Sarawak Governor also shared his experience spanning over four decades in the government administration including when he led several key ministries at the Federal level until his appointment as President of the Dewan Negara.
He expressed hope that SPANS would continue to carry out its mandate with full professionalism and dedication, thus ensuring that the state's public service administration is constantly efficient, transparent and credible for the well-being of the people and the progress of Sarawak. -UKASnews
