KUCHING: The legendary Indonesian singer Hetty Koes Endang, fondly known as “Bunda Hetty”, will take centre stage in Miri for the Hetty Koes Endang & Friends Concert 2025 on 13 September at the Miri Indoor Stadium.
Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, announced the upcoming concert during a press conference at Baitul Makmur II today, describing it as a rare opportunity for Sarawakians to experience one of Nusantara’s most enduring icons.
“Hetty Koes Endang is truly a living legend in the Nusantara music scene. Her forthcoming concert in Miri will be a rare opportunity for fans across Sarawak, Brunei, Singapore, and Kalimantan Indonesia to experience her powerful and timeless voice live,” he said.
Organised by Borneo SuperAct Events, the concert will mark Hetty’s first live performance in northern Sarawak. The showcase will also highlight local talents including Bob Yusof, Rickie Andrewson, Rosiana Urai and twin rising stars Aleysha and Ryan Zachary Van Der Horst.
Founder and Owner of Borneo SuperAct Events, Datuk Eddie Abdullah, said the event will be both a musical journey and a boost to Miri’s tourism sector.
“This concert is more than just entertainment, it is a musical journey across generations. We are confident that Hetty Koes Endang’s first live performance in Miri will create unforgettable memories for fans, while also supporting local talents and generating positive tourism spin-offs for the city and surrounding areas,” he said.
Aligned with its theme “A Concert with Charity in Mind”, Borneo SuperAct Events will contribute part of the net proceeds to the Persatuan Sokongan Kanser Payudara Miri (PERSOPAM), a local breast cancer support group.
The concert is expected to draw visitors from Sarawak, neighbouring Brunei, Kalimantan Indonesia, and beyond, further contributing to the state’s vibrant tourism and creative arts sector. -UKASnews
