PERAK: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) proudly supported Sarawak students who represented the state at the Malaysia Rocket CanSat Competition 2025, held from 2 to 4 September at Felcra Seberang Perak.

According to a statement, the Sarawak representatives were the Top 3 winners of the Sarawak Rocketeers CanSat Challenge, an initiative introduced by TEGAS last June as the state’s first rocket and satellite design-and-build competition.

“TEGAS supported the students’ journey to the national level, enabling young talents from SMK Sungai Tapang, Sekolah Menengah Seni Sarawak, and SMK Penrissen to showcase their skills and innovation alongside peers from across the region.

“The Malaysia Rocket CanSat Competition, organised by UiTM HEMREL in collaboration with MOSTI, brought together 700 participants from 68 teams across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines,” it said on Thursday.

Students competed in two categories, namely the 1KM Rocket Launch and the CanSat Competition, which tested their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Through this milestone, TEGAS continues its mission to build an inclusive and future-ready Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) ecosystem by empowering Sarawak youth to excel on national and international platforms.

This effort is part of TEGAS’ long-term commitment to nurturing digital talent and preparing the next generation of innovators for Sarawak’s digital economy. -UKASnews
