BAU: The ninth edition of the Fairy Cave Festival 2025 was held with much festivity, drawing visitors from within and outside the area through an array of cultural performances, exhibitions, and sales activities.
Serembu Assemblyman, Miro Simuh, expressed appreciation to the organising committee for their efforts in ensuring the success of the festival.
He noted that besides strengthening community bonds, the event also stimulates the local economy through business opportunities and tourism promotion.
“This festival is a clear example of a community-based programme (CBP) that brings direct impact to the people, offering platforms for entrepreneurship and showcasing the potential of Fairy Cave as a key tourism attraction,” he said.
He further emphasised that full support would continue to be given to initiatives like the Fairy Cave Festival as well as other development efforts across Krokong, ranging from Kampung Gumbang to Kampung Tringgus.
Miro also highlighted the importance of preserving existing facilities and tourism products so that their benefits can be enjoyed not only by the present generation but also passed down for the future.
The event was also attended by Bidayuh Community Leader for Kuching Division, Temenggong Atok Derop, representing the Bau District Officer, Shaffika Kueh, and all KMKK representatives from the Serembu and Krokong zones. -UKASnews
