Pickleball A Platform To Unite Bintangor Youth

BINTANGOR: The Mixed Doubles Pickleball Competition organised by the Bintangor Pickleball Club successfully attracted the participation of 29 mixed doubles, proving the high interest of the youth in the sport which is growing popular.

Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS) and Semop Assemblyman, Datuk Abdullah Saidol said that organising sports like this is a platform to strengthen friendships and promote healthy lifestyle.

“The Bintangor Pickleball Club is believed to be able to be further strengthened with the widespread participation of youth regardless of race and religion.

“I believe this sport will continue to grow in Bintangor, and even bigger tournaments can be organised in the future,” he said when officiating the competition at the Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Abang Amin Hall, on Saturday.

He also participated in a friendly match with members of the Bintangor Pickleball Club as a symbolic launch of the competition.

Apart from delivering words of encouragement to the players, he also mingled with local youth who were present to watch the competition.- UKASnews
