SEMATAN: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) has successfully organised the LCDA Workshop 2025 here recently, as a step to strengthen the organisation's ability to implement development responsibilities under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) in line with the aspirations of the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
The three-day workshop brought together 52 senior officers and executives of LCDA who are involved in the planning and implementation of development projects.
According to the General Manager of LCDA, Datu Sr Zaidi Mahdi, the workshop was an important platform in preparing the organization to face the new trust from the Sarawak Government to LCDA.
“The good performance shown by LCDA in implementing projects in the 12MP with an expenditure of 93 per cent until July 2025 of the approved allocation must be continued in the 13MP.
“Thorough preparation by each officer is essential to ensure that each project implemented in the 13MP has the maximum impact on the people of Sarawak.
“Every officer must equip themselves with three important elements, namely knowledge, Procedures and technology to enable the tasks and responsibilities to be carried out properly,” he said in a statement.
In accordance with the LCDA Ordinance 1981, the main function of LCDA is to plan and implement development projects in areas declared as Development Areas, including redevelopment, resettlement and land settlement.
It also plays a role in promoting economic and social development in identified areas and promoting housing, commercial, agricultural and industrial development that directly benefits the people.
Through this workshop, LCDA expressed confidence that it can strengthen an excellent work culture, teamwork, professionalism and integrity, while ensuring that development projects under the 13MP are more sustainable, effective and have a positive impact on society. - UKASnews
