KUCHING: PETRONAS and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) on Monday informed the High Court in Kuching that the parties jointly request for the hearing to be adjourned for one month.

In a joint statement, it said the adjournment was granted to allow the ongoing negotiations between the parties to continue.

The parties are still involved in discussions with an aim of bringing matters to resolution.

It was reported that the main issue between PETRONAS and PETROS is a legal dispute over a RM7.95 million bank guarantee, which PETROS alleges PETRONAS wrongly claimed for gas supplied.

While court proceedings were moving forward, both companies have requested a one-month adjournment as of August 25, 2025, to continue negotiations aimed at finding a collaborative resolution.

This legal battle dates back to October 2024 when PETRONAS first demanded payment for gas supplies. -UKASnews
