NIAH: The spirit of patriotism and unity was celebrated at the Subis District Jalur Gemilang Flying Campaign 2025, officiated by Deputy Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development and Bekenu Assemblywoman, Datuk Rosey Yunus, at Niah Waterfront on Saturday.

Organised by the Miri Division National Unity and Integration Department with the support of the Rukun Tetangga (KRT), the event gathered 14 KRT zones across Subis, reflecting the strength of community participation in fostering solidarity and love for the nation.

Datuk Rosey emphasised that the Jalur Gemilang is more than a national flag, it represents Malaysia’s dignity, sovereignty, and identity.

“Every time the flag is flown, it is a symbol of unity, togetherness, and our commitment to safeguard the nation’s peace and harmony,” she said.

She further stressed that this year’s theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni”, highlights that nation-building goes beyond physical development, encompassing compassion, inclusivity, and respect for Malaysia’s diversity.

The Deputy Minister also expressed pride in seeing KRTs as community movers and pillars of unity, welfare, safety, and well-being at the grassroots level. She hoped the campaign would encourage stronger neighbourly bonds, greater involvement in volunteerism, and instil pride in being Malaysian.

She called on households, businesses, and government offices in Subis to proudly display the Jalur Gemilang as a sign of unity and patriotism.

The programme featured a patriotic poetry recital, a presentation of the Jalur Gemilang to government department heads, community leaders, KRT members, and the public, and spirited renditions of patriotic songs, including Malaysia Madani, Rakyat Disantuni, Jalur Gemilang, Kerana Mu Malaysia, and Tanggal 31 Ogos.

Datuk Rosey extended appreciation to the Miri Division Unity Department, government agencies, NGOs, and all KRT communities in Subis for their dedication to making the campaign successful.

“This close cooperation proves that togetherness and sincerity in service will continue to strengthen our nation, especially in Subis, Sarawak, and throughout Malaysia,” she said.

Subis District Officer, Norlila Ulis, Miri Division Unity Officer, Wilfred Ugap, community leaders, and KRT representatives from across Subis were also present. -UKASnews
