MIRI: A total of RM85,000 in Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants was distributed to 30 associations, schools, and organisations in Pujut today, highlighting the State Government’s commitment to grassroots development.
Miri City Mayor and Pujut Assemblyman, Adam Yii Siew Sang, officiated the presentation ceremony at the N.74 Pujut Service Centre.
Recipients included religious bodies, cultural associations, schools, parent-teacher associations, sports clubs, and welfare organisations across Miri.
Yii said the allocations will help these groups continue initiatives that directly benefit local communities.
“These grants show our commitment to supporting the efforts of community organisations that play an important role in education, culture, sports, and welfare,” he said.
He also noted that apart from MRP grants, the GPS Government continues to roll out initiatives to ease the people’s burden, including i_GPS travel subsidies for Sarawakian students studying outside the state.
“The Pujut Service Centre will continue to act as a bridge between the people and the government, ensuring information on schemes and assistance reaches those who need it most,” he added. -UKASnews
