BINTULU: The Sarawak Government is prepared to assist farmers by providing agricultural machinery to boost the sector in line with modern technology.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, said the machinery would be channelled to the Sarawak Farmers’ Association for the benefit of farmers across the state.
“The association will manage the machinery, which farmers can use at affordable rental rates to support their farming activities.
“This way, our farmers no longer need to rely solely on the traditional hoe,” he said.
He made the remarks when officiating at the Sarawak Agrofest at the Old Bintulu Airport grounds on Saturday.
