KUCHING: i-CATS University College (i-CATS UC) clinched two Gold Awards in the Innovation category at the inaugural International Conference, Exhibition and Innovation on Public Health and International Community Services (ICEPH-CS) organised by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) at a leading hotel here.
The four-day event, co-hosted with international partners from Indonesia, carried the theme ‘Building Resilient Public Health Through Community Service’ and gathered universities and researchers to showcase solutions to global health challenges.
i-CATS UC won with MEDIGO, a digital platform that improves public health access in Malaysia, and EmbraceAura, an AI-enabled wearable headband that provides real-time emotional support for postpartum mothers.
Undergraduate Software Engineering students, Ronan Kuek Joo Pern, Alister Goh Zhen Hong, and Esmat Danyal Es Zulkarnaen developed MEDIGO with the team being led by Director of the Centre for Information Technology Management and Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computing and Software Engineering, Ts. Nurlaila Rosli.
Meanwhile, Nur Suryani Rosli (team leader), Ts. Nurlaila, Associate Professor Dr. Muhamad Sophian Nazaruddin, and Mohamad Safiddin Mohd Tahir developed EmbraceAura with support from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
