KUCHING: Sarawak-owned airline, AirBorneo, has unveiled its official logo known as ‘Wings of Unity’ in a ceremony held at the Satria Pertiwi Complex on Thursday.

The launch was officiated by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, marking a significant milestone ahead of the airline’s operational debut in January 2026.

The new logo, carrying the slogan ‘Borneo For You’, reflects AirBorneo’s vision to connect Sarawak with the world through purposeful travel, celebrating culture, and serving as a bridge between communities and businesses across continents.

The brand identity incorporates Sarawak-inspired colours and motifs as a symbol of unity and diversity, while ‘Wings of Unity’ draws inspiration from the state’s natural environment and cultural core, with its design symbolising freedom and connectivity defined by travel.

Like a river, it represents innovation, constantly moving forward and charting new pathways in the skies.

Its foundation is rooted in heritage, a reminder of Sarawak’s traditions shaping modern solutions, honouring the past while celebrating the future.

Together, these nature-based elements form a visual identity symbolising harmony, resilience, and progress, all anchored in the core values of AirBorneo.

Sarawak Secretary and Chairman of AirBorneo Holdings Sdn Bhd, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki in a statement described the logo as more than just a design.

He said it was a pledge to connect Borneo with the world authentically, inclusively, and purposefully, in line with the Sarawak Premier’s vision to strengthen regional connectivity, economic growth, and cultural pride.

The statement further conveyed that Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari praised AirBorneo as a symbol of confidence in Sarawak’s global standing, adding that the airline will play a crucial role in advancing the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 through enhancing ASEAN air connectivity, job creation, infrastructure enhancement, support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the achievement of economic growth targets.

Also present at the ceremony were Sarawak Deputy Premiers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Sarawak Minister for Transport, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Sarawak Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, and other dignitaries. -UKASnews
