BINTULU: The Bintulu Vocational Secondary School Upgrading Project is fully completed, ahead of schedule.
The RM21.5 million project was implemented by the Special Project Team 2 (PPK2), Public Works Department (JKR) Malaysia using the conventional method of consulting through contractor Asarajaya Sdn. Bhd.
The handover ceremony of the completed project to Bintulu Vocational College, Sarawak was officiated by the Minister of Works, Dato Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi on Monday.
According to Dato Seri Alexander, the completion of the project 49 days ahead of schedule without requiring an Extension of Time (EOT), sets a great example for the implementation of other projects.

“Several new workshops have been built including the Culinary Arts, Fashion, Cosmetology, Electrical, Electronics, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Mock Office, Wiring, and Welding Technology workshops.
"All of these workshops will serve as the best training medium to produce a highly skilled workforce," he said.
Dato Sri Alexander added that the successful completion of this project does not only include completion of the physical facilities, but also hoped that new enthusiasm would be injected among educators and students to continue cultivating educational excellence.
In his speech, he also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved, particularly JKR Malaysia, the project team, main contractors and professional consultants who have demonstrated high commitment.
At the same time, he reminded contractors to act swiftly in implementing repairs if complaints are received during the Defect Liability Period (DLP), while JKR will continue to monitor the project post-handover to ensure that the facilities are in good condition and meet specifications.
“KKR and JKR are always committed to implementing high-impact projects that directly benefit the people.
The success of this project is proof that the aspirations of the MADANI Government are translated into action through quality projects, on time completion, and providing added value to the community,” he stressed.
