KUCHING: Kuching City FC (KCFC) players have been reminded not to be lulled by the success of defeating The Real Warriors (TRW) FC in the opening match of the 25/26 Malaysia Super League on Friday night, but rather to improve their game to face the two difficult matches to come.

KCFC Assistant Coach, Zulkarnein Mohamad Poasa said his squad will face Brunei DPMM in the FA Cup on August 16, before hosting the 11-time Super League champion, JDT on August 24.

"In terms of preparation, we will focus on the FA Cup first (against Brunei DPMM) and then our preparations for the match against JDT in Kuching. We will take our preparations one by one," he said in a press conference after the match.

Meanwhile, Zulkarnein praised the KCFC players' performance in the recent match who displayed their best performance to defeat Kelantan, 4-0.

"Alhamdulillah, even though there are some new players who are still finding their rhythm, they were able to perform well.

"They played really well, especially during training, where the last two or three days of preparation showed great performance," he said.

In the match, KCFC managed to crush the Kelantan team 4-0 thanks to goals from Wanja Ronald Ngah who scored twice while Joao Pedro and Ramadan Saifullah each managed to score one goal.

Zulkarnein added that the 11 main players in the recent march showed the desired outcome but also praised the substitutes who showed good performance.

He said that the reserve players can act as the starting eleven squad since the players will be selected based on the performance shown during the training session. - UKASnews
