KUCHING: The Segulai Sejalai Night is a platform to strengthen collaboration between the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the Malaysian Information Department (JaPen) Sarawak and strategic media partners in an effort to strengthen effective information delivery to the people.

Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol said that the event is not only a sign of appreciation for the role of the media in delivering accurate and authentic information, but also a platform to strengthen strategic relationships for the benefit of the people.

"Close cooperation between UKAS, JaPen and strategic media partners is key in ensuring that the people receive accurate, fast and comprehensive information.

"We need to maintain this Segulai Sejalai spirit so that every effort to deliver government policies can be implemented effectively," he said.

He said this when speaking during the Segulai Sejalai Night organised by UKAS and JaPen at the JaPen Sarawak Headquarters here on Friday night.

He stressed that the media plays an important role as a bridge of communication between the government and the people, hence the strong support of all parties must continue in line with the development of technology and the demands of the digital era.

The ceremony was also filled with various performances, chain singing, lucky draws, kahoot quizzes and others in strengthening the bond of friendship and the spirit of togetherness.

With the spirit of Segulai Sejalai, UKAS, JaPen and strategic media partners are determined to continue to drive collaboration for the well-being and progress of Sarawak.
