KUCHING: Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS), Dato Wee Hong Seng accompanied by officers from Telekom Malaysia conducted an inspection at Jalan Pending to follow up on the issue of missing manhole covers.

According to a statement, out of the eight manholes identified earlier, six have already been repaired and fitted with covers on Friday.

Dato Wee commended Telekom Malaysia for their swift and proactive response in addressing this safety hazard, ensuring the area is safer for motorists and pedestrians.

He added that MBKS will continue to monitor locations where manholes are missing to ensure timely repairs are made.

“The safety of our residents will always be our top priority,” he stressed.

Dato Wee also urged the public to play their part by reporting any uncovered or damaged manholes through the iPeople App, Talikhidmat, or by contacting MBKS directly at 082-238080. -UKASnews
