KUCHING: The Sarawak Premier’s Office Complex, previously nicknamed the ‘White House’, has now been officially named 'Kompleks Satria Pertiwi', marking yet another historic milestone in Sarawak’s administrative landscape.
The symbolic naming of the new complex was officiated by Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar in a grand and ceremonial event held here, on Monday evening.
“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby officiate this building and name it Kompleks Satria Pertiwi,” declared the Head of State during the official naming ceremony.
Accompanying him was his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, along with Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
Also present at this momentous event were Sarawak Deputy Premiers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, Sarawak Cabinet Ministers, Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Deputy Ministers, Heads of Departments, and other distinguished guests.
The ceremony continued with the signing of a commemorative plaque, followed by a ribbon-cutting at the main entrance of the complex, symbolising the official commencement of operations at the new building.
Following the formalities, the honoured guests were invited to tour the interior of the complex which showcases a modern and striking design that reflects the progress and growing efficiency of the state’s increasingly dynamic administrative system.
As the highlight of the evening, the Premier of Sarawak presented a token of appreciation to Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi as a gesture of honour for officiating the ceremony.
The event concluded with a dinner reception.
