KUCHING: Kuching danced its way into the Malaysia Book of Records on Sunday night as 11,349 participants filled the State Hockey Stadium during the 10th Kuching Zumba Fiesta.

This breaks two national records for the Largest Participation in a Zumba Event, and for the Largest Glow in the Dark Zumba.

The milestone event was graced by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, who applauded the community's active lifestyle and strong turnout.

This event shows how Kuching continues to champion health, unity, and joy through movement, said Mayor of Kuching South City Council, Dato Wee Hong Seng.

"Tonight, we didn’t just make history, we brought people together in the spirit of wellness."

Dato Wee also extended his heartfelt thanks to the dedicated Zumba instructors from various studios whose vibrant energy and leadership kept the crowd engaged throughout the night.

He further expressed appreciation to the event sponsors: KTS Group, Natural Avenue, Gatorade, and Ming Ming Travel Services Sdn Bhd, whose support made this record-breaking event possible.
