PADAWAN: Efficient administration and digital transformation have been identified as key priorities in the ongoing development efforts for Kampung Taba Sait.
Deputy Minister for Transport Sarawak (Aviation and Roads), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, emphasised the importance of adapting village administrative approaches to the changing times, particularly in the context of the younger generation and advancing technology.
“Embracing social media, internet access, and digital systems is a vital step in village management to ensure that administration remains responsive, efficient, and relevant,” he stated.
He made these remarks during the Appointment Certificate Presentation Ceremony for Community Chiefs and the Launch of the Upgraded Multi-Purpose Hall in Kampung Taba Sait, held on Saturday.
Datuk Dr Jerip, who also serves as the Mambong Assemblyman, stressed the need for efficient and transparent governance—especially in areas such as project reporting and monitoring.
He reminded village administrators to maintain well-organised records to ensure smooth disbursement of allocations and timely payments without unnecessary delays.
To further enhance community capacity, he proposed that village chiefs and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) receive ongoing training.
This, he noted, would improve administrative competency and strengthen collaboration between JKKKs and the District Office in implementing targeted projects and structured economic and social activities.
During the event, Dr Jerip also announced an allocation of RM200,000 under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) to upgrade the Kampung Taba Sait Multi-Purpose Hall.
Also in attendance were Padawan Sub-District Administrative Officer Julius Scott Sapong, Bidayuh Pemanca for Kuching District Raymond Jihap and other distinguished guests. -UKASnews
