BELAWAI: The SAMASedia Series 3/2025 Programme which took place for three days and two nights at the Kampung Belawai Community Hall marked another success in empowering Sarawak youth as future leaders of the state.

Sarawak Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment and Kuala Rajang Assemblyman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, expressed his appreciation to Amanah Khairat Yayasan Budaya Melayu Sarawak (AKYBMS) and Susoul Management for the initiative to organise this beneficial programme for local youth.

“We need new successors to ensure the continuity of future leadership.

“This programme is a direction on how we can lead and guide our young people so that they gain experience earlier to take over leadership in the future,” he said in his speech at the opening of the programme on Friday.

He also touched on the success of the SAMAsiswa 2025 programme which was previously held at Sumiran Eco Park & Resort with the participation of 39 male and female students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

This programme, he said, has successfully built a strong foundation in preparing youth for the world of work through strengthening their identity and mental resilience.

According to Datuk Len, efforts to prepare the next generation cannot be taken lightly because the stability and progress of Sarawak in the future depends greatly on the quality of leadership from the grassroots.

He stressed that leadership education needs to be started earlier, and youth need to be empowered to be competitive at the global and local levels.

With hard work and continuous cooperation, he is confident that Sarawak will continue to produce high-quality leaders who can drive the state towards a more brilliant future.

SAMASedia 2025 is one of a series of AKYBMS programmes implemented continuously in an effort to strengthen the leadership of Sarawak's youth under the spirit of "SarawakKu Sayang".

Also present at the event were Tanjung Manis Acting District Officer Ismail Kasah, and AKYBMS Political Bureau as programme coordinator Sulhie Salleh.-UKASnews
