KUCHING: The Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) Department Heads team won a friendly bowling match against the Sarawak Federal Civil Service (SUPS) Department Heads team held in a spirited atmosphere at Megalanes Sarawak, here, on Tuesday.
The match involving 30 players from both teams saw the SCS team led by Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki win the competition with the highest number of pin falls of 3,277 pins.
Meanwhile, the SUPS team led by Sarawak Federal Secretary, Dato Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan recorded 3,131 pin falls after two rounds of play.
The event began with a photo session with the players before the match started at around 8.30 p.m. and was also enlivened by the presence of senior Sarawak and Federal government officials.
For the open men's category, the Director of the Immigration and Labour Management Unit, Richard Lon was crowned champion after recording 340 pinfalls.
Second place was won by a representative from the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) Batu Lintang Campus, while third place was won by the Director of the Sarawak Youth and Sports Department, Lamat Nyalau.
In the women's category, the Director of the Human Resource Management and Development Unit, Sharifah Rohana Datu Wan Alwi emerged champion with 194 pinfalls, followed by the Kuching Division Resident and an officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who took second and third place respectively.
This friendly match was organised as an initiative to strengthen relationships between senior state and federal government officials, alongside promoting a healthy lifestyle among civil servants.
The ceremony ended with the presentation of prizes to individual and team winners and a commemorative photo session. -UKASnews
