MIRI: The Dutch Ambassador to Malaysia, Jacques Werner, continued his official working visit to Sarawak by paying a courtesy call on the Mayor of Miri City and Pujut Assemblyman, Adam Yii Siew Sang, at the Miri Mayor's Office, Miri City Hall, Marina ParkCity on Thursday.
The visit was also accompanied by the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands, Dato Andy Chia and the Senior Economic Officer of the Dutch Embassy in Malaysia, Agnes Seah.
This visit is part of a series of official visits by Ambassador Jacques Werner to Sarawak which took place from 1 to 5 July, involving two main locations, namely Kuching and Miri.
The Dutch delegation arrived in Miri from Kuching on 3 July.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on urban governance, sustainable development initiatives and explored areas of cooperation in areas of mutual benefit, particularly involving the economy and modern urbanisation.
The Miri City Mayor expressed his appreciation for Jacques and his delegation visiting Miri, expressing hope that this visit could be a catalyst for closer cooperation between the Dutch Government and the city.
The meeting took place in a friendly and productive atmosphere, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and opening up potential for strategic cooperation in the future. -UKASnews
