KUCHING: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg received a courtesy visit from Baitulmal and Waqf Board Members at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, here, on Tuesday.
The courtesy visit was aimed at briefing the Sarawak Premier on the current operations and management of the Baitulmal and Waqf institutions in the state.
During the session, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari also proposed that the Baitulmal and Waqf Board focus on the field of education, in line with the Sarawak Government's aspiration to provide free higher education to Sarawakian children starting in 2026.
Also present during the visit were Baitulmal and Waqf Board Members consisting of Datu Abang Helmi Tan Sri Abang Ikhwan, Sarawak Financial Secretary, Dato Sri Dr. Wan Lizozman Wan Omar, Sarawak Mufti, Datu Kipli Yassin, Dato Sri Abang Abdul Karim Tun Abang Openg and Datu Abdul Razak Tready.
Among those present were Datu Soedirman Aini, Datin Dayang Ernie Awang Hashim, Abang Rahmat Yusof and Ustaz Mual Su’aud.
Meanwhile, also joining the courtesy visit was the management of the Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS), Datu Abang Mohd Shibli, Abang Mohd Nailie, Bolhassan Iskandar Taibi, Abang Faisal, Abang Marzuki, and Iskandar Allan. -UKASnews
