KUCHING: The remains of the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang were laid to rest at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Semariang, here at approximately 2.37 p.m. today.

A sombre atmosphere filled the cemetery grounds as mourners gathered to pay their final respects before the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani was buried.

The funeral procession arrived at the cemetery at around 1.24 p.m., accompanied by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, and close family members.

Sarawak Grand Imam, Dato Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi led the recitation of Talqin prayers and al-Quran verses along with other attendees.

The atmosphere was filled with sorrow as Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari, family members, and dignitaries sprinkled rose water over the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani’s grave before departing the burial grounds.

Also present were Sarawak Deputy Premiers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Speaker of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, along with Federal and Sarawak Ministers and Deputy Ministers, as well as close family members.

The late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani passed away at 3.34 a.m. today at Normah Medical Centre, here at the age of 76. -UKASnews
